So I’m leaving tomorrow at noon to drive down to California and I need your help! Previously I’ve always gotten food at drive-thrus along the way and at gas stations. Nope, nope, nope. I have a plan this time. I’m buying gas near grocery stores. Yep, I’m a planner.

I want your help, though, because I need some tunes and audio books. Nothing makes a 19 hour drive better than an audio book to go with it. So, here’s a call for help. Let me know your best ideas for music and books to get me through the drive.

I can’t wait to get to the first In-N-Out Burger. I want one of those suckers now.

Tonight will be filled with cleaning, packing, bitching about cleaning and packing, procrastinating, getting my nails done to impress Sugar Muffin with how put together and hot I am, angsting over wanting to impress Sugar Muffin with how put together and hot I am, trying to plan a proper group outing, wondering if I should bring that pair of underwear, looking through the album from the last time we were all together, making plans with Fearless Leader, getting really giddy and then nervous and then giddy and then nervous about seeing people, trying to calm myself down, thinking “Eff this” and downing a shot (or four) of vodka, trying to continue to pack, getting schleepy, deciding that I’m just going to finish that crap in the morning, going to sleep, waking up too early and getting mad at myself for having to get up that early, finishing all of the above, going to work, and finally leaving for California.

Sounds good, right?

So… who wants to do my packing for me?

I LOVE audio books! They're they only thing I listen to when running. I get them from the library and import them into itunes so i can listen to it on my ipod. I usually try to pick something light and funny so I'm not too lost if I get distracted. I really love Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez's Dirty Girls Social Club and the sequel Dirty Girls on Top. Jane Greene has several good ones and Jennifer Weiner has few, my favorite being Good in Bed. I also kind of liked The Next Thing on My List by Jill Smolinski. Augusten Burroughs and David Sedaris are also always funny.

Really jealous. I love in-n-out.

I have heard in-n-out is quite pleasurable.

I love the hectic rutine before going on a trip. Just keep some cash handy – you'll probably forget something like your toothbrush and you will be in need to buy one new.
