I am a very happy pale little Seattleite. Despite the lack of sun, there are so many things that I love about my city like the completely pointless Space Needle

The fact that we actually have a troll under one of our bridges… yep that is a real volkswagon bug in his hand.

The busses

… and my ability to walk from one job to another. I love living in a walking city. I lived in Los Angeles for a few years and I hated the fact that you had to drive everywhere. The busses sucked and it was always too far to walk to get anywhere. The only major obstacles here are the hills and the rain.

One can be overcome by not being lazy as is my nature and the other can be over come by cute galoshes. We don’t do umbrellas.

I’ve been walking from one job to the other for a while in the rain. I don’t mind so much except that my pants get wet. Yesterday, though, the weather was perfect for walking. I decided to change my walk just a little bit so that instead of taking the slightly longer but almost flat route, I took the .1 mile shorter but much steeper route to evening job and was happy to feel the burn in my booty that a good workout gives. True, it isn’t a long walk, but it’s what I can fit in right now. I am thinking that I should also work in 10 minutes of strength training 2-3 times per day. This way I can maximize my little snippets of time and hopefully start seeing faster changes in my body again.

I don’t yet have a complete plan for this and am hoping for some feedback on things that I can do in ten minutes first in the morning, then in the afternoon (in a more public area so nothing ridiculous looking), then possibly in the evening. I don’t know about that though… does it really effect your sleep if you workout before bed? Would ten minutes do that? So, any feedback would be super great! Just remember 1 & 3 can be ridiculous, 2 needs to have some dignity attached.
